Under 18 Cable Access Producer Usage Policy

To become a Grafton Access Producer as a minor, the applicant:

1) must appear before the Grafton Cable Oversight Committee, GCOC, for approval with a parent / legal guardian, presenting two signed letters of recommendation from a teacher, employer, and or Public Town Official before taking the standard 8 week class conducted by the Grafton Public Access Coordinator.

2) must have a parent/guardian agree in writing to assume full responsibility for any damage or loss of Grafton Cable TV equipment by signing the Minor’s Release & Liability Agreement.

The GCOC reserves the right to revoke the Minor’s Release & Liability agreement and suspend the use of Grafton Cable TV equipment privileges at anytime. If there is suspicion of Grafton Cable TV equipment abuse in production content or physical damage, the Grafton Public Access Coordinator may suspend the user until the GCOC has the opportunity to review the case.

Apprentice Access Producer (12 minimum to 15 years old)

Any person the age of 12, 13, 14 or 15 shall meet all the requirements of becoming a Grafton Access Producer but will have limited access privileges provided the Minor’s Release & Liability Agreement has been signed by a Parent or Guardian. In all cases privileges shall be judged on a case by case basis by the GCOC.

Those granted the privilege to use any of the Grafton Cable TV equipment must be supervised by an adult Cable Access Producer (or the Grafton Public Access Coordinator at the Coordinator’s option and discretion). Access to the equipment is limited to the studio premises only. No equipment is to leave the studio with the exception of video media (tapes, CDs, DVD’s, etc.) which must be returned at the request of the Grafton Public Access Coordinator.

Junior Access Producer (16 or 17 years old)

Any person age 16 or 17 shall meet all the requirements of becoming an adult Grafton Access Producer and have the same privileges as long as the Minor’s Release & Liability Agreement has been signed by a Parent or Guardian. The Parent/Guardian may choose to limit access to certain Access equipment.*

*The parent / legal guardian shall be given a best effort assessed monetary value list of the Grafton Cable video equipment. A parent / legal guardian may elect to restrict or limit in writing the amount of liability which the child assumes when removing equipment from the Grafton Cable Studio.
